Membership

The Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling (RMACAC) is a non-profit professional association consisting of over 1100 professionals from secondary and post-secondary institutions dedicated to serving students transitioning from high school to college. RMACAC members work to promote high standards in the college admission process by exchanging ideas, sharing common goals, and preparing counselors to serve students in the transition from high school to college.

Membership Options 

The RMACAC region includes AZ, CO, NM, UT, and WY. Membership runs from July 1 - June 30. Membership fees are not prorated; any payments made for the current membership year apply from the time they are made until the end of that cycle. RMACAC dues are non-refundable and non transferrable. 

  • Individual and Institutional memberships are available. Institutional memberships are only available for private high schools and public or private colleges and universities.

  • If you were a RMACAC member for the 2023-24 membership year, you will be RENEWING. If you need to change the Key Contact (primary individual who manages membership) for your organization, please contact Justin Duval at [email protected]

  • If you have previously been a member, but not in the most recent year (2023-24) you will be considered a NEW member.

  • If you are joining as a NEW secondary school member, please use your high school name as your organization unless you are based at the district level.

Fees

Please note that during the 202-2025 renewal year all public high school counselors and staff members of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) will have free RMACAC membership and access to all RMACAC benefits. If you would like to take advantage of this option and were not a member of RMACAC during the 2023-2024 cycle, please fill out the membership form to join RMACAC today!

Institutional Membership

All professionals working at the same institution can be included in the membership application and fee. 

0-3 Individuals $120 ($125 after Nov 1)
4-5 Individuals $150 ($155 after Nov 1)
6 or More Individuals $200 ($205 after Nov 1)

RMACAC provides resources for its members to guide and empower students as they prepare for college admission. Becoming a member and getting involved is a great way to share your ideas with professionals in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. RMACAC members gain access to:

Voting members include:

  • Primary and secondary schools within the RMACAC region listed in resources approved by the Executive Board.

  • Not-for-profit two and four year colleges, universities, and other post secondary institutions within the RMACAC region. Regional admission counselors (whose institution is located outside the RMACAC region, but who live within the RMACAC region) can be voting members.

  • Not-for profit organizations within the RMACAC region whose primary activities consist of providing counseling, admission, or financial aid services to students, college admission counselor, or financial aid professions.

  • Individuals including independent education consultants or counselors who are self-employed or employed by a company within the RMACAC region, or who perform the majority of their professional duties in the RMACAC region, who provide counseling, admission or financial aid services to students and/or their parents.

  • Professionals who are college consultants in private practice who are self-employed or employed by a company providing counseling, admission, or financial aid services to students and/or their parents. 

  • Persons who were employed at a voting member institution or organization in the RMACAC region during the current year or immediately preceding membership year who are no longer employed by any member or member-eligible institution.

Non-voting members include:

  • Primary and secondary schools outside the RMACAC region listed in resources approved by the Executive Board.

  • Not-for-profit two and four year colleges, universities, and other post secondary institutions outside the RMACAC region.

  • Not-for-profit organizations outside the RMACAC region whose primary activities consist of providing counseling, admission, or financial aid services to students or to college admission and financial aid professionals.

  • Organizations that provide products and/or services to the counseling, admission, or financial aid professions or in support of students in the transition from post secondary education.

  • Individuals including persons employed by non-voting member institutions and organizations, independent educational consultants or counselors who are self-employed or employed by a company outside the RMACAC region or who perform the majority of their professional duties outside the RMACAC region, who provide counseling, admission, or financial aid services to students and/or their parents, students who are seeking careers in counseling, admission, or financial aid services.

  • Professionals who work for a business, not including educational institutions, that promote access to higher education. Businesses may provide products or services to college admission professionals or students. Must have been in business for the past three years. This category does not include independent counseling professionals.

  • Persons who were employed at a voting member institution or organization outside the RMACAC region during the current year or immediately preceding membership year who are no longer employed by any member or member-eligible institution.
