Job Description: Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Students and Enrollment, the Dean of Admissions is a senior manager within the Division of Students and Enrollment and is responsible for the overall planning, management, and administration of the Office of Admissions. The Dean provides leadership and direction to undergraduate recruitment and marketing initiatives and has primary responsibility for developing strategies to attract, recruit, and enroll a diverse student body that supports the overall mission and enrollment goals of the University. The Dean of Admissions assists with the development of the enrollment management plan; provides leadership and supervision to a staff of approximately 20; and manages an annual operating budget of $1,000,000. Creating and implementing differentiated recruitment plans that take full advantage of available technologies, working closely with staff to expand recruitment markets and systems that increase applicant yield, and developing collaborative relationships with Brandeis stakeholders, including faculty, marketing and communications, and financial aid to meet enrollment goals will be a key priority for the next Dean of Admissions.

Work closely with the Executive Director of Admissions to lead all undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts. Supervise and actively mentor a group of 13-14 admissions counselors and Assistant Directors by developing them as effective recruiters, presenters and file reviewers for CSU; and supporting their growth as valuable members of the admissions profession; Strategically and effectively utilize the latest recruitment data and software, including ACT AIM, Recruitment Plus, College Board EPS and Descriptor Plus, to reach goals and offer effective outreach; and train and support staff in incorporating their use into daily work; Collaborate with the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment to ensure strategic planning and coverage of recruitment territories; train staff on effective territory management; and utilize CRM approaches and descriptive data to maximize recruitment effectiveness; Co-lead the execution of a holistically structured file review system, through the File Review Norming Committee, as a committee team leader, and as a reader; Coordinate and lead all in-state and out-of-state recruitment efforts for prospective freshmen, prioritizing the work of staff in determining attendance/regrets for in-state and out-of-state requests for fairs and other special visits. Collaborate with office colleagues and the broader campus community to ensure CSU’s recruitment and outreach efforts toward first-time freshmen are successful; Actively promote and ensure successful programming efforts within the unit, including those for low-income, first-generation, and/or racially/ethnically diverse students, to facilitate an inclusive and diverse freshman class exemplary of CSU’s Land Grant mission;
